Prayer (Salah) is an obligatory worship for both males and females in Islam, as was discussed before in How Muslims Pray. This article will discuss Prayer guides for muslim women. As rules for performing prayers vary for women, this guide is designed to help girls and females learn how to pray (Perform Salah For Women).
Eilaf institution has put together a step-by-step guide for performing Salah about How to Pray in Islam for Beginners Females, who are learning prayers for the first time or for those who want to refresh their knowledge.
Before beginning the salah
Here are the 4 steps for beginning the salah simple as it is:
Step 1: Prepare yourself for the Prayer.
Step 2: Perform the wudu.
Step 3: Get into your prayer position.
Step 4: Perform pre-prayer (Dua).
How to perform wudu(ablution)?
Before we may do salah, we must prepare ourselves emotionally, physically, and spiritually. A significant element of this preparation is known as wudu. Every Muslim must go through a purifying ritual before they can pray. It is such a crucial portion of the salah that anyone who chooses to leave it out of ignorance, carelessness, or negligence will have their prayer rejected by Allah.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: “No salah is accepted without wudu (purification)” Sahih Muslim, Book 2, Hadith 2.
(لا صلاة بغير وضوء)
-
Wudu Steps:
Make your intention to perform Wudu, and say Bismillah (بسم الله).
The first step of Wudu is to comprehend that you perform Wudu as an action of Tahara to perform your Salah. And you develop your intention for the matter of having accepted worship (Salah) from your heart and mind. Before washing ourselves, we must say Bismillah (In the Name of Allah). You can repeat it softly to yourself.
Washing Hands
Our Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him) had taught us to always start with the right side first, which means you have to wash your right hand from the fingertips to the wrist 3 times, ensuring that water touches every part of the hand.
Rinse your mouth.
Three times
Sniff water into your nose.
Three times
Wash your face.
The water should reach each part of your face, from ear to ear and from the top of your head to the bottom of your chin. Wash it 3 times.
Wash your arms.
Starting from the fingertips to the elbow 3 times.
Wipe Your Head and Clean Your Ears.
Wash Your Feet 3 Times. (Same as washing your arms from your toes to your ankle).
Recite the Shahada and the Dua
- “Ash-hadu an la ilaha illal lahu wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluh.”
“أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله”.
This means “I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I also testify that Muhammad is His servant and messenger.”
- After this statement you would make the following dua: “Allahuma j‘alnee mina tawabeen waj-‘alnee minal mutatahireen”
“اللهم اجعلني من التوابين واجعلني من المتطهرين”
Which means “O Allah, make me among those who seek repentance and make me among those who purify themselves.”
